Dolph Ziggler and John Cena continue to feud on Raw each week, with little physical altercation besides the locker room segment. At first no one at home, in the live audience, or on the all mighty internet (maybe even the writers too) didn’t know why Dolph Ziggler was sticking his head into the mix between AJ, John Cena and Vickie Guerrero. Other than Vickie being Dolph’s manager/friend/whatever why should the man carrying the money in the bank briefcase care who John Cena is screwing on his off days? The booking at the beginning may be bad but Dolph Ziggler against John Cena has a very classic booking feel to it, and if the WWE can do it right they may just end up with two main events each night, CM Punk versus whomever and John Cena against Dolph Ziggler.

John Cena is the best baby face character the WWE has, so I am never expecting a heel turn like Hulk Hogan did at the end of his career for John Cena. He is one of the top draws and sells a lot of merchandise for the WWE. Hell the WWE were offering ticket refunds on house shows during Cena’s latest injury stint. While a lot of us, myself included, hate the John Cena character, and despite what hostile crowds and internet smarks rave about, John Cena can wrestle. He has had a few historic battles with CM Punk, Edge and many more. Cena is the super hero like character appeals to the kids and fans that love faces; Ziggler is the classic heel that steals the show in the ring each night somewhere in the mid card. Together these two men can steal the show together, and once Dolph cashes in that briefcase, this feud can bring the spot light back to the World Heavyweight title.

Booking John Cena against Dolph Ziggler can be easy for the WWE if they can remember to keep their eye on the ball. The creative team has taken page out of the day time drama’s playbook, forbidden romance and the men between them. We never really got an answer to why Dolph cares about what AJ does in her spare time; does Ziggler secretly have feelings for AJ? That may be the answer we get. Dolph Ziggler not only wants the world title around his waist, he wants AJ on his side too.

John Cena has helped catapult CM Punk and Edge to the top of the WWE; he has also helped keep The Rock relevant all of last year while Dwayne was on set last year. It is no question John Cena has plenty of matches left to work, and it’s very clear that Dolph Ziggler aims to steal the show each night so let them steal the show together each night, throw in AJ and Vickie so the matches rarely finish clean and ride this wave of success. Dolph Ziggler against John Cena not only has a nice ring to it, it has the capacity to push not only any card over the top and not just any card let’s say WrestleMania?
